Rebecca Hopkirk

Rebecca Hopkirk has over 25 years' experience representing a variety of national and international insurance and reinsurance clients worldwide, including risks in emerging markets.

She acts for some of the leading reinsurers in relation to their complex, cross border claims arising from property, energy, construction, oil and gas, petrochem, power generation, utilities, infrastructure, mining, supply chain exposures and political risk claims.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Rebecca has advised on some of the largest disasters and catastrophe losses including WTC 9/11, Arab Spring 2009/2010, Japanese Earthquake 2011, Thai Floods 2011, Hong Kong Riots 2016, Caribbean Hurricanes 2017 and Portuguese Fires 2017. Her main focus is helping clients to resolve disputes in Latin America, North Africa, the Middle East and Far East.

Rebecca has also advised on Alternative Risk Transfers, Bankers Blanket Bond risks, the PA LMX Spiral, Agricultural Risks and regulatory issues. She has been named as a leading lawyer in various directories including Chambers, Legal 500 and Expert Guides 2013-2018.
