Hugh Kennaway
Hugh has over 25 years loss adjusting experience having worked in the London Reinsurance market, Thailand, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. He is a Chartered Insurer and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters. Hugh now has Global responsibility for Non Marine at Matthews Daniel.
Hugh is an experienced machinery breakdown, property and business interruption adjuster in the power and energy sectors. He has dealt with property and liability claims worldwide including many power, refining and petrochemical losses in Greece, Turkey, Russia, North Africa and the Middle East. Additionally, he has handled many claims on construction and operational projects principally in the power, oil, gas and energy sectors.
Hugh works in many countries including: Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates), North Africa (Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria) in addition to Russia, Turkey, Greece, Malta and Cyprus as well as the Caspian including Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Khazakstan. He also has current experience of working with the State Electricity and National Oil companies of Mexico, Algeria, Nigeria and several IWPP’s throughout the Middle East and Turkey. He led the adjustment team on the Vasilikos Power Station explosion in Cyprus which occurred in July 2011. This large claim was agreed and subrogated in 14 months. He also led the adjusting team on the June 2015 Rosneft Achinsk refinery loss in Central Siberia which was closed in 17 months and a large petrochemical loss at Lukoil in February 2015 which was settled in 14 months.
