Tom McFarlane

Tom Macfarlane is the head of Energy and Engineered Risks for AIG in Europe and the Middle  East. Tom is responsible for the management and leadership of the five technical lines that comprise EER  in those territories, including the Construction Product line.

Tom has over 45 years’ experience in the insurance industry, commencing with general property, high risks, and specialising for the last 25 years in a wide variety of energy fields, including on and offshore construction broking. 

Prior to joining AIG Tom spent 35 years of his career as a broker in , first, CT Bowring, and latterly Marsh and McLennan. There he ultimately had responsibility for the broking teams in all Energy lines of Marsh in London, including up and down stream, construction, and liability. He joined AIG eleven years ago as Senior Underwriter for Downstream Oil and Petrochemical business and has subsequently held positions running the London office, and as AIGs Global Energy leader.
