Mike Thomas

Mike graduated from the University of Texas, Austin in 1971 with a BSME and immediately joined General Electric as a Field Engineer working on steam and gas turbines and generators.  After a short time in the field, he returned to Schenectady, New York where he received advanced training in Large Steam Turbine Start-up and Generator Specialist, then returned to Texas to continue this work in the field.  Continuing to progress through the Power Generation Field hierarchy, Mike completed his work with GE as the Manager of Projects for the Southern Region, handling total plant installations and commissioning of combined cycle and steam plants.   

Using this experience, he left GE and worked for Environmental Power Corporation, a developer of waste to energy facilities, then started M.G. Thomas & Associates, Inc. in 1989, with his team gathering experience on over 2,200 failures of power generation equipment representing major Insurers.  This experience was strengthened by the Partnership, with shares ownership as MGTA Group, LLC.
