Christopher Price-Kuehne

Chris is a Senior Vice President and a risk engineer in Marsh JLT Specialty’s Energy & Power practice based in London. He is the Global BI Engineering Leader for the Energy & Power practice and is a senior member of the Global Energy Risk Engineering (GERE) team. Chris coordinates the activities of a team of specialist engineers that carry out Business Interruption (BI) reviews for the full range of Energy & Power clients worldwide.

In his role as Global BI Engineering Leader Chris is responsible for the following:

  • Coordinating the work of specialist BI engineers in London, Dubai, Singapore, Houston and Mexico City

  • Carrying out BI assessments for Marsh JLT Specialty’s Energy & Power clients globally

  • Developing the processes that deliver BI engineering products for clients and the insurance market.

Chris joined Marsh in London in 2010 as a Risk Engineer where his responsibilities initially included conducting underwriting surveys and the provision of risk management advice to Energy clients. Prior to joining Marsh, Chris worked at Shell’s Stanlow oil refinery in the UK where he was responsible for the day to day technology support for the site utilities and sulphur recovery units. With Marsh, Chris has experience surveying refinery, petrochemical, power generation and gas distribution facilities. Chris has worked with many clients to assess their Business Interruption (BI) and Third Party Liability (TPL) exposures through bespoke studies.

Chris is also the Energy & Power practice’s focal point for Vapour Cloud Explosion (VCE) modelling and in 2016 he project managed the development of the Marsh BLAST powered by MaxLoss© explosion modelling software.

Chris graduated from the University of Cambridge (Christ’s College) with a master’s degree in chemical engineering and is an associate member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).
