OEC 2024 - “Bridging the Gap”

Energy insurance is used to adapting but now, more than ever, there is a need to "bridge the gaps" between buyer and insurer. Some gaps are old and need addressing, some are new and need education.  Against this backdrop, the energy insurance market is experiencing a mixture of emerging risks including geopolitical developments, a changing macro-economic picture, the need for sustainable capital and rapid technological developments. Successful navigation of these risks requires regular horizon scanning to develop effective and relevant risk transfer and service solutions.  OEC 2024 aims to address a selection of the major issues and provide delegates with current market leading insight and information to allow the implementation of insurance strategies to help reduce the gaps. OEC 2024 will again use a mix of plenary, focus groups, breakfast briefings and short TED-style talks to communicate the various subjects.

The main conference sessions currently include:

  • Keeping energy insurance relevant

  • Changing demand - an energy insurance stock take

  • The real world - energy at ground level

  • The approach of UK Government to energy and insurance

  • A look at whether the energy insurance markets are fit for purpose

  • The issues raised by the increase in insured values

  • The views of the insurance client

  • A study of bio refining
