Onshore Energy Conference

Experience the diverse world of energy

The OEC understands the ongoing interest within the insurance industry of the role of supply diversity in promoting energy security. For that reason we organise regular tours and workshops onsite at the UK’s most important locations designed to increase knowledge of traditional production and new technologies

It is responsible for 6% of the UK’s power, plans to move forward onto cleaner renewable energy sources are in place at this station and it has gone through an incredible transformation by converting and upgrading some of its generating units to use sustainably compressed wood pellets instead of coal.

This visit includes 2 elements which will be guide led. The bus tour has stops to get closer to some of the structures on site like biomass domes and cooling towers, and the walking part of the tour is through the main generation areas. After the tour there will be a presentation from Darren Walker (Repower Programme Manager), with a Q&A.
